Jaime – {sandy springs baby photographer}

Jaime was a wonderful baby that I hadn’t posted yet from last October.  Seems like a lifetime ago!  It pains me to think how many poor little newborns weren’t able to have their pictures taken during the pandemic!  Especially when they were supposedly most immune to it!

Based on what all my wedding photographer friends have been telling me it seems like their little niche of the photography world was hardest hit by all the various lockdowns.  Of course it’s understandable why clients wouldn’t want to follow through with a big wedding but at the same time families weren’t very interested in portrait photography either.  This has all led me to wonder why photography businesses and salons, and other industries where people are required to be in close contact with other people, weren’t included in the same categories as restaurants by the government when deciding who was hardest hit…. but there I go again off topic!  Nevermind Covid I say!  It’s almost over anyway!

Okay, as for little Jaime, she was 21 inches and 8 1/2 pound at the time of the photo shoot, which is about average and she was a dream to shoot.  You’ll notice in one of the photos our little newborn is on the bride’s wedding veil.  This is a very common newborn prop that parents ask me to use in the photographs sometimes.  I must admit I usually have a little trouble trying to fit these into the usual ‘newborn settings’.  I went with the ‘winged nest’ approach here in these pictures and I think they turned out great.  I also threw in a teddy bear for good measure!  It really works best to use wedding veils and other wedding paraphernalia during the summer so I can take the pictures outside against all the green grass and trees…. very pretty!

I hope Jaime is doing well and I hope all those deprived newborns who had their special moment ‘stolen’ from them will make up for it with lots of giggles and smiles at their Year One Photo Shoots!  Haha!!
