Little Isabella was born a couple of weeks early so I had to do some last minute juggling to accommodate her. There must be something in the air because I’ve had five babies born early recently! You know what they say about the younger generation… they’re just so damn impatient! Well, I guess that sentiment has finally trickled right through to the womb, as I’m seeing more and more babies who just feel nine months is too long for their pregnant mommy.
Isabella was born five pounds and four ounces, so that was the main reason we gave her a little time to enjoy her new world and fatten up a little before the shoot. But it all worked out though because her newborn pictures look beautiful! And I love it when I get a smaller than usual newborn because I’m able to use some of my props that most of the babies can’t fit into.
For this shoot I was able to use a brand new basket I found on a day trip up into the mountains at an antique store. The owner had woven the basket together herself with wisteria vines from her yard and then painted it those pretty hues of blue and pink. The turquoise carriage in the other photo is a vintage doll carriage that I found at Scott’s Antique Festival here in Atlanta.
